Member Rules

Members of the Canonsburg Sportsmen's Association are required to abide by all PA Game Commission Laws.

Members of the Canonsburg Sportsmen's Association are required to abide by the ordinances of Chartiers Township.

There is to be no open burning/fires on club grounds. Fires must be in accordance with Chartiers Township ordinance.

While on club grounds, you must have your membership card displayed. 

Members and your guest - PLEASE respect the rules of the ranges.  Check the web pages for the ranges to familiarize yourself with the rules for use of the ranges. 

THERE IS TO BE NO SHOOTING AT THE RANGES AFTER DUSK OR BEFORE SUN UP! (except scheduled shoots by the Trap Committee) 

Any member found guilty of destruction of club property will have their membership terminated.  Members, you are responsible for your guest.

Club Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 8:00pm. Please Attend. 

We are accepting Adult Membership applications at the Clubhouse. Please read the application process listed below.

Junior Member Dues: $15.00 per year. Junior membership is open throughout the year, however, renewal dues must be paid under the same rules as Adult Membership Renewal.

Adult Membership Application Process:

1. Applications MUST be filled out onsite (Clubhouse). NO application will be permitted off the club grounds.

2. Applicant MUST have two sponsors who are current members of the CSA and in good standing.

3. Both sponsors MUST be present with applicant when application is filled out.

4. Both sponsors MUST sign the application.

5. Once the application is submitted, it will be numbered and placed on file in the order that it was received.

6. If selected for membership, you will be contacted and asked to attend the following month’s regular meeting, which is held the third Tuesday of every month. If applicant cannot attend that meeting, they will be required to attend the following month’s meeting. If applicant cannot attend either one of those meetings, their request for membership will be denied. At least one of the applicant’s sponsors must attend the meeting with them.

7. PRIOR to attending the meeting, applicant will be REQUIRED to complete a background check. All background checks need to be current. If you have a current one (within last 3 months), that can be used.

8. Background checks can be requested/submitted by going to the following site and clicking on the ‘Submit a New Record Check’ button https://epatch.pa.gov

9. Applicant is responsible for any/all fees associated with the background check.

10.  Once you have received your background check, you MUST bring a hard copy of your background check with you to the meeting. The copy will be attached to your application and placed on file.

11.  Absolutely NO applications will be processed without a copy of the background check.

12.  If you must apply for a background check, please make sure you allot enough time for the check to come back prior to the monthly meeting.

Fees Breakdown:

$200 initiation

$80 dues (pro-rated)

$ 10 fob fee

***Reminder for 2024 Dues*** 2024 Dues must be paid/renewed by January 31, 2024 

 Adult Membership Renewal Dues are $80.00 

Junior Membership Renewal Dues are $15.00

**Please note that membership dues for 2024 calendar year are due by or mailed/postmarked by January 31, 2024 or membership will be terminated** Beginning October 1, 2023, through January 31, 2024 renewal dues for 2024 membership will be accepted.  Members will be asked to update their record (full name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address, etc). Members who come to the club to pay their dues will be given an envelope in which to place their dues. Members will be asked to update their record on the envelope (full name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email, etc).  You will be issued a receipt for your dues. Please allow 2 weeks to pick up your renewal card and pin. Renewal membership cards can be mailed to the member for an additional $1.00 fee, however, membership pins will not be mailed.   

DUES CAN BE PAID BY MAIL

Please allow additional time for processing of all dues received via mail. Beginning October 1, 2023, through January 31, 2024 renewal dues for 2024 membership will be accepted.  Please include a postage paid envelope or add $1.00 to your dues if you wish your card returned via mail, otherwise you can pick up your card and pin at the club.  When remitting dues by mail, please include current membership card number, full name, address, telephone number, date of birth and email address. Also, please include your membership card number.  Membership pins will not be mailed. Bring your 2023 membership card to the club to pick up your pin.  ***REMINDER*** - Dues must be paid or postmarked by January 31, 2024 or membership will be terminated.***  IF PAYING BY MAIL, PLEASE INCLUDE A SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE OR ADD $1.00 IF YOU WISH YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD RETURNED TO YOU BY MAIL.  Please come to the club to pick up your pin.

 • ONLY ONE KEY FOB WILL BE ISSUED PER MEMBER  

• DO NOT LOAN YOUR KEY FOB TO A NON-MEMBER - Our computer system will track the entrance and exit of members.  Members letting others use their key fob may be disciplined or lose membership.

• WILL I HAVE TO BUY A KEY FOB EACH YEAR I RENEW MY DUES? - No. Your original key fob will be automatically renewed each year you pay your dues. This reduces cost to the member and the club.  

• WHAT IF I LOSE MY KEY FOB? -If a member loses their key fob, they must come to a regular membership meeting to request a replacement. You cannot receive a replacement on Sunday.  

• WHAT IS THE COST FOR A REPLACEMENT KEY FOB? - There will be a fee of $10.00 to replace a lost/misplaced key fob. The lost fob will be deactivated.
